Lots of news!

Firstly, The Evening Post newspaper in Nottingham ran a great article on us last Friday. You can view an online version here along with a video interview and a live acoustic performance of “Monsoon Is Now” that we filmed just before Christmas. Turned out pretty well we reckon. Alternatively, if you have the attention span of a goldfish, here’s the Youtube video:

We’re pleased to announce that we have been nominated in a category for this years Pure Rawk Awards. Our FDCCDEP is up for “Best EP of 2010”, so it’d be really nice of you if you clicked here for the categories and then voted for us.

The venue for our February 16th Newcastle show has been changed and will now be at The Hyem.

This past weekend we had an absolute blast filming our debut video. It was one of the coldest experiences that we’ve all ever had in our lives, but the entire band, cast and crew didn’t complain once and were total pros. From the raw footage that we’ve seen so far, we have high hopes that we’ve created something really special. You can check out some behind the scenes photos on our Facebook page. Like this:

And finally, if you have Twitter, you can now “follow” three of the four FDCs. Just don’t expect Dazmondo on there anytime soon though.

Outta here!

Tour Dates!

Happy New Year and all that shite! Now, with that out of the way, here’s the first bit of news from what is shaping up to be a very busy January 2011 for the FDCs.

It’s our first tour! Well, it’s only a small run of dates, but as we’ve said from the beginning, this band has no great plans of spending weeks and months at a time “on the road” so we’re only going to be doing things like this when it suits us and when our schedules will allow it. The opportunity to hook up with our old friends from Albany, New York The Erotics was too good an opportunity to miss though, so it’s ON!

Friday 11th February – The New Inn, Ilkeston
Wednesday 16th February – Trillians, Newcastle
Thursday 17th February – Stereo, York
Friday 18th February – Yardbirds, Grimsby
Saturday 19th February – The Central, Nottingham

I (JD) toured the US twice and the UK three times with The Erotics during my time with Teenage Casket Company, Joey and Danny have played with them a bunch of times whilst in Patchwork Grace and Dazmondo has done the artwork for their last three CDs. So it’s basically one big happy dysfuctional and delusional family….
