Competition, gigs and a cool live video….

Hey yo. just a quick one. As promised, our good friends at Uber Rock have a really cool competition for you where you can win #100 of the FDCCDEP. Not only that, but it’s signed by all of us too. If we ever get a number 1 hit single, that shit’s gonna put your kids through university if you sell it on Ebay! It’s free to enter, the question is easy and it only takes one email so get to it.The competition is RIGHT HERE! (Closes Monday 30th May)

As anyone close to me knows all too well, my favourite band in the entire world is the Swingin’ Utters. I’ve got a dozen hoodies, about 30 T-shirts, cassette demos, skateboards, you name it, I’ve got it! Well, I’m thrilled to announce that we’ll be supporting them on Sunday September 4th at the Camden Underworld in London. That’s one for the bucket list baby!

We’ve got our first show in Wales coming up next week quickly followed by another Nottingham show. It’ll be six months since our last “hometown” gig and we’ve hand-picked a cracking line-up to share the bill with us, so please come along and show your love peeps. Check out the GIGS link for full info.

In closing, here’s a really cool video from our February tour with The Erotics. If you still don’t know where the FDC name originated from, then pay close attention, because this is the song that inspired it all! Mike Trash from The Erotics joins us on stage at Yardbirds in Grimsby for “It’s True”. (Filmed by Craig Lamont)

Radio, Debut LP, Gigs, Merch!

Hey everyone. Firstly, thankyou to those of you who bought merch last month. Know that your money was indeed sent to the Red Cross in Japan and that it’s hopefully helped out your fellow man.

I’ll get to the news in a minute but firstly, tonight (May 4th) JD, Joey Strange and Dazmondo will be appearing on the Noize Level Critical radio show on THE SOUND. We’re going to be on air from 8pm until 10pm and we’ll be playing a bunch of acoustic songs live, spinning some of our favourite tunes and of course having a nice sit down and a chat with Big D. You can listen online at or I can thoroughly recommend downloading the “TuneIn Radio” app for your smartphone and searching for The Sound. That’s what I do anyway!

On May 9th, work begins on our debut album. We’re hooking up with Jason Sanderson again who was behind “The FDCCDEP” and we couldn’t be more excited. Do not expect the album to be out until 2012 though. Our plan is to work slowly but surely throughout 2011and build the album brick-by-brick. There are a number of reasons for this, but mainly it’s because I (JD) have never made an album that way (ie. no deadline) and I need it to be the BEST record that I’ve ever put my name to. To say that I intend this to be a “career defining” album would be an understatement. It feels like this is going to be the result of 20 years in the trenches of rock n’ roll. So, no pressure then! Seriously though, if our plans come to fruition, it’s going to be worth waiting for. Even if it’s only for the guest stars and cameos….

We’ve added a few new gigs to the site. On May 21st we’re bringing our good friends Shush to our favourite place to play, The New Inn in Ilkeston. It’ll be our last show there for a few months because let’s face it we’ve been spoiling you lot there recently haven’t we?! We don’t want it to turn into some kind of Celine Dion type residency deal. Also worth highlighting is our gig on June 4th at The Chameleon in Nottingham. We handpicked Dick Venom & the Terrortones and The Charm Offensive for this one and it should be a corker!

Merch…. We just added some signed glossy posters to our online store. They’re very nice. We have a few original logo T-shirts left. Once these are gone, they’re gone. No re-prints. We’ll be launching a new design in a couple of months. Same goes for the arm-bands. We have one original black FDC arm-band left and we’re expecting a new and different batch to arrive later this month. So act NOW to buy a slice of history! There are also a small handfull of the limited edition versions of The FDCCDEP left too. They will be going into a standard pressing shortly without all the bells and whistles of the hand-numbered versions. Speaking of which, we have a very cool competition coming up soon to win #100 of those limited EPs. We’ll be running it in association with Uber Rock, so keep your snouts to the ground!
